Depart Nairobi in the morning and head north toward the dramatic landscapes of Samburu National Reserve. Enjoy diverse scenery as you travel through fertile farmlands and into Kenya’s semi-arid northern frontier. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River — the lifeline of the reserve. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, leopards, and the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive exploring Samburu’s rugged terrain, rocky hills, and riverbanks shaded by acacia and doum palms. Samburu is known for excellent sightings of elephants cooling off in the river, predators resting in the shade, and rare species found only in northern Kenya. With a picnic lunch in the reserve, continue exploring until late afternoon, discovering the park’s rich wildlife and stunning scenery. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive toward Meru National Park — one of Kenya’s most diverse and less-crowded wilderness areas. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing and taking in the peaceful surroundings, or enjoy an optional short game drive near your lodge. Meru’s lush vegetation, flowing rivers, and volcanic features make it a beautiful contrast to Samburu’s arid landscapes. Dinner and overnight in Meru.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in Meru National Park. Explore its varied habitats — from open grasslands and riverine forests to wetlands and rolling hills. Wildlife in Meru is abundant, with elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and both black and white rhinos. The park is also rich in birdlife and famous for its connection to Elsa the lioness from Born Free. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing your afternoon game viewing. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy on the Laikipia Plateau. Arrive in time for lunch and settle into your lodge. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive across this award-winning conservancy known for its impressive wildlife density. Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five, the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Explore its grasslands, riverine areas, and acacia woodlands as you search for lions, elephants, rhinos, and buffalos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
