Agreement to These Terms
By submitting a safari enquiry, making a booking, or using the Engolong Savannah Tours website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If booking on behalf of a group, you confirm you have authority to accept on behalf of all travellers.
These terms apply to all services provided by Engolong Savannah Tours Limited, a company registered and operating under the laws of Kenya.
Bookings & Enquiries
The Enquiry Process
Submitting an enquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking β it begins a conversation with your dedicated Safari Advisor to design your itinerary.
Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when all three conditions are met:
- You have received and approved a written itinerary and quotation
- You have signed or electronically accepted the booking confirmation
- The required deposit has been received and cleared
Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for providing accurate traveller names, dietary requirements, medical conditions relevant to activities, and travel dates. Engolong cannot be liable for issues arising from inaccurate information.
Pricing & Payment
Currency
All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) per person unless otherwise stated.
Deposit & Balance
- A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to confirm your reservation.
- The remaining 70% balance is due no later than 60 days before departure.
- For bookings made within 60 days of departure, the full amount is payable immediately.
Payment Methods
Bank transfer (USD), M-Pesa (Kenya clients), and major credit/debit cards. Bank charges are the client's responsibility.
Price Lock
Once your deposit is received, your price is locked. We will only adjust after confirmation in cases of currency fluctuations greater than 10% or government-imposed levies, with at least 60 days' written notice.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be made in writing to info@engolongsavannahtours.com. The following fees apply:

Cancellation by Engolong
If we must cancel (other than force majeure), we will offer a full refund of all monies paid or an alternative safari of equivalent value.
Amendments
By You
We will do our best to accommodate changes made in writing. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs from suppliers.
By Engolong
We may occasionally need to make minor changes (e.g. substitute equivalent accommodation). We will notify you promptly. For significant changes, you may accept or cancel without penalty.
Our Obligations
- Arrange all services as confirmed in your itinerary
- Provide experienced, certified professional guides
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and properly maintained
- Provide 24/7 emergency contact support throughout your trip
- Act in your best interests throughout planning and delivery
Your Obligations
- Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity beyond your return date
- Obtain all required visas, travel permits, and vaccinations before departure
- Comply with the rules of all parks, conservancies, and accommodation providers visited
- Behave respectfully toward wildlife, local communities, and fellow travellers
- Inform Engolong of any medical conditions or dietary requirements affecting your participation
- Follow all safety instructions given by your guide
Engolong reserves the right to exclude any person whose behaviour is unsafe, abusive, or disruptive, without refund.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. Your policy should cover at minimum:
- Trip cancellation and curtailment
- Emergency medical treatment and hospitalisation
- Medical evacuation including air ambulance
- Loss or theft of personal belongings
- Personal liability
Engolong cannot be held responsible for costs arising from inadequate or absent travel insurance.
Liability
Engolong acts as agent for third-party suppliers including airlines, lodges, and transport providers. While we carefully select all partners, we cannot accept liability for their acts or omissions.
Safari activities involve inherent risks including encounters with wild animals. By participating you acknowledge these risks. We will not be liable for injury or loss arising from inherent risks where we have taken all reasonable precautions.
Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the booking in question.
Force Majeure
Engolong shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control β including natural disasters, war, terrorism, government actions, strikes, pandemics, or severe weather.
We will work with you to reschedule or offer a credit for future travel. Refunds are subject to what we can recover from third-party suppliers.
Complaints
Please raise any problem with your guide or our operations team immediately so we can resolve it on the ground. Your travel documents will include a 24/7 emergency contact number.
If unresolved, submit a written complaint to info@engolongsavannahtours.com within 28 days of your return. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and provide a full response within 28 days.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, it shall be severed and the remaining terms shall continue in full force.
